More about Levendula-house: Levendula-house is one of the rural institutions of the Szombathely Egyházmegyei Caritász, located in Vásárosmiske. The Diocese of Szombathely Karitász renovated the dilapidated parish building without a priest and made it comfortable for the residents. It was established for the day care of people suffering from various diseases. In 2010, the institution started with 40 people. Currently, there are 65 people under care, 48 people have an employment contract with Cellcomp Kft., for which they receive a 4-hour wage. The work is simple, they deal with the disassembly of electronic products. The disabled or rehabilitation benefit, plus the 4-hour wage, provides a more livable income for the beneficiaries. People attending day care have different health problems. e.g. mobility, vision, intellectual disability, metabolic disease, etc., which do not allow 8-hour work in the open labor market. The institution was created for them. Several patients have been alone at home for many years or have lived as unemployed. It is very important for them to visit the institution on a daily basis to avoid isolation. The supply area of Levendula-house is: Sárvár, Káld, Gérce, Vásárosmiske, Nagysimonyi, Sitke, Kemeneskápolna, Mesteri. The bus service provided by Cellcomp Kft. solves the transportation of the dependents, or bus passes are provided free of charge. Within the framework of day care, they deal with the production of handicraft products: paper weaving, weaving, sewing, crocheting, etc. By baking wafers, the surrounding parishes are supplied with these goods. The main activity is taking care of the 12,500 plants of lavender around the building, which provides work for the employees from early spring to the end of winter. The main goal of the institution is to preserve and improve health and maintain a sense of usefulness.
