The castle building of the institution was built in the 18th century by the Szegedy family, and in 1824 Ferenc Szegedy transformed it into a classicist style. The hall of the castle building is extremely beautiful, decorated with murals in the Empire style. The II. During World War II, the building was used by the German army, the Hungarian Defense Forces, and then the Soviet Red Army. It became state property in 1950 and has been operating as a social institution since 1968. The last renovation took place in 2004.
The castle also has a 3-hectare park, which hides many botanical rarities. The row of sycamores that were planted in 1920 also belonged to the park. At this time, the fern pine tree was also planted, which today is considered the oldest fern tree in the country. The mammoth pine, now 30 meters high, has been decorating the garden since 1820. The House of Providence - Home for the Elderly Acsád has been operating under the maintenance of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Association since May 1, 2021.
The institution provides nursing, specialized nursing and care for elderly and dementia patients in 163 beds. Our most important task is to provide physical and health care appropriate to the age and state of health of the people living in the home, psychological care, physical therapy, and organizing appropriate and useful activities and employment for them. In order to enrich the occupations and achieve the goals, it is very important that our residents use tools that are safe, develop their remaining skills and provide a pleasant pastime.
